TradingView is the most widely used charting platform for retail traders. It covers equities, crypto, forex, commodities, and futures with real-time prices, technical indicators, and a large community of shared ideas and scripts. It is excellent at what it does. What it does is charts. If you want to combine market data with macro indicators, AI lookups, uptime monitors, database queries, and notifications in one place, TradingView cannot do that.

It covers equities from major global exchanges, crypto from most spot and derivatives exchanges, forex pairs, and commodities.

The community layer is significant: millions of users share chart ideas, Pine Script strategies, and market analysis. The screener lets you filter stocks and crypto by technical conditions. Alerts fire when a price crosses a level or an indicator condition is met. For a trader who spends their day analyzing price action, TradingView is hard to replace.

TradingView raised prices across all paid tiers in April 2026. Annual billing saves approximately 17% versus monthly. Sales occur a few times a year with 40–80% discounts.

Where 7di is a better fit

TradingView alerts are tied to price levels, indicator thresholds, or Pine Script conditions on a specific symbol. You can alert when BTC crosses $70,000, or when the RSI on AAPL drops below 30. You cannot alert when "the 10-year Treasury yield has risen above last month's high" or "the price of a Big Mac in London has gone above £5." Those conditions require web search and language understanding, not price-feed formulas.

The Smart alert in 7di evaluates any condition in plain English on each check. It can reference market conditions, macro data, news events, or anything else that is publicly available. TradingView alerts require the data to come from a connected exchange feed and be expressible as a numerical formula.

TradingView also does not monitor anything outside of financial markets. If you want to watch your server uptime, your PostgreSQL health, your API response times, or your Stripe revenue on the same dashboard as a crypto chart, TradingView cannot do that. 7di can combine all of those on one page.
